In this Privacy Policy Statement (“Statement”), “we”, “us”, “our” or “Cyberport” refers to Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (香港數碼港管理有限公司), its subsidiaries, affiliates, and associated companies, "Ordinance" refers to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Chapter 486 of the laws of Hong Kong and “personal data” refers to personal data as defined in the Ordinance.

Cyberport Policy

We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy and personal data of individuals such as our customers, visitors and website users ("Users" or "you"). We fully comply with the obligations and requirements stipulated under the Ordinance. This Statement provides you more details on how we handle your personal data.

Data Collection and Use

When you visit our website, we will record your visit as a “hit” (please also refer to “Use of Cookies” section below). The web-server makes a record of your visit that includes your IP addresses (and domain names), the types and configurations of browsers, language settings, geo-locations, operating systems and previous sites visited.  We will use these information for website enhancement, optimisation and “security incident investigation” (e.g. tracing the origin of a suspected hacker’s attack).

At times, we may request you to voluntarily supply us with personal data by electronic means or in written form. This may occur when you register for or attend an event organised by Cyberport, or subscribe to a service or newsletter provided by Cyberport. When you attend an event organised by Cyberport such as training, symposium etc., we may ask for your name, company name, contact number and e-mail address so we can administer the event and notify you of the registration status. Data Transfer

Cyberport will NOT disclose or transfer personal data collected to third parties unless such disclosure or transfer is authorised, required or permitted by, or in compliance with, the Ordinance. Please refer to our Personal Data Collection Statement for details.

Data Security

We are required by the Ordinance to take all practicable steps to protect the personal data we hold against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss, or use. Cyberport strives to protect any personal data held by us against the above situations. We employ industry-standard encryption and restricted access protocols to mitigate these risks.

Notwithstanding our obligation to safeguard the security of personal data, we are unable to guarantee complete security of communications through the internet given the open nature of the internet. You should assess and accept the relevant risks before sending any personal data online.

Use of Cookies

When you browse our website, cookies will be stored on your device. Most web browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You may change the browser setting to disable cookies. The data collected by means of cookies on the website include but not limited to the current version of your operating system and web browser and will be used for the purpose of managing and improving the website experience.

Subject to the applicable requirements under the Ordinance and upon your consent, we may from time to time send direct marketing materials to you promoting services, products, facilities or activities. We will not provide your personal data to third parties for direct marketing or other unrelated purposes without your consent.

Our website may contain links to other websites maintained by other parties, which may collect your personal data in the course of your interaction with these parties.
