Description :Broadcasting system available in the market today are expensive to build, they are designed to be standalone that lacks interaction with the outside world and the community. Our project aims to develop an interactive multimedia broadcasting system with low-cost system-on-chip computer called Raspberry Pi, together with a content-rich Cloud video network built together with the community. Existing broadcasting system in the market is expensive, as the computer and system they use to power the display screen requires demanding specification and thus a high cost. By using a low-cost Raspberry Pi computer as backbone and develop a suitable system on top of that, we aim to minimize the cost of hardware to just 40% of the original. Apart from the cost factor, our system is designed for the community rather than a standalone system. One of the key features is that our system is not solely a “video player” but a collaborative platform for schools to deploy their e-learning material, for students to learn more actively and video producers to distribute their lovey movies to more audience more effectively. Elements of e-learning are implemented and our system plays a vital part in the development of e-learning of schools. We especially targeted schools and small organizations as we see the need of such a platform for them. We are also actively seeking video producer to contribute their productions to the community and build a vast cloud video network together. Ultimately, we hope to build a content-rich cloud video network available for free or paid on demand to the community.
