Description :
When life ends, we leave behind our memory, and our assets.
A person's assets used to be purely physical:
- a family photo album, in the desk drawer;
- a bank account, at the nearest bank branch;
- a lifetime of our writings and thoughts, in a leather-bound notebook.
This is no longer the case, as we now have:
- our pictures of happy moments, on Flickr;
- a money deposit, on PayPal;
- our ideas and feelings, written in emails or on a Tumblr blog.
More assets are converting from their old physical form to a modern digital equivalent. The digital portion of our world is becoming more valuable. It is easy for a son to retrieve his father's notebook from the drawer, and it is a customary procedure to transfer ownership of bank accounts to the deceased's relatives. But these mechanisms are not yet in place for the digital equivalent of those assets: lawyers/estate planners are not equipped to manage their clients’ digital assets; giving passwords to friends or family would be a hassle and may be lost, and most often not updated.
LITTLE WHITE FLOWER was born as a solution for people to manage what will happen to their online accounts in the event of their death. We allow users to privately manage which part of their online content will be preserved and which will not, and to effectively transfer access to those accounts to their relatives or friends. We also provide a turn-key solution for lawyers, insurers and other professionals, to enable them to manage their clients’ digital assets alongside the physical assets they already manage.
LITTLE WHITE FLOWER symbolises the rememberance and honour of the deceased, an unbroken connection between the deceased and his/her family and friends. Our solution is developed in the same spirit.
