Sam the Local is a peer-to-peer platform that connects people to Locals for customized, interest-based activities and experiences. Their vision is to enable people to experience the world with a human touch. Through the two co-founders’ own experiences with exploring different cities and moving from California to Hong Kong, they realized that locals will always have the most rich knowledge, stories, and experiences to share. This drove them to create Sam the Local so that everybody could have a local friend anywhere they went in the world.

Launched in 2015, their headquarters and operations are based in Hong Kong.
