Silicon Dragon 2019 explored “Tech Titans of China Outlook” at Cyberport 

This year’s Silicon Dragon spotlighted the “Tech Titans of China Outlook” to examine the trends in tech innovation and in such emerging sectors as IoT, AI, big data, and smart city in Mainland China and discussed the rise of Chinese Tech Titans.

 

Just as the six previous editions held in collaboration with Cyberport,  this April’s Silicon Dragon connected leading tech entrepreneurs and investors to exchange insights on the latest trends and challenges in tech investment.

 

With smart city technologies gaining momentum around the world, five Cyberport start-ups specialising in related sectors examined “IoT and Smart City Innovations” at a panel discussion and shared the sectors’ latest developments. Panel speakers included the founders of Mad Gaze (AR smart glasses), Virtual Control (machine learning, AI, blockchain, industry 4.0), Team Concepts (Wearable/IoT), Wildface.ai (AI) and Softhard.io (IoT). In addition, two Cyberport start-ups pitched at the event, including Ambit Geospatial (AI/ Big Data) and Pickupp (E-commerce). 

The event also staged a heated discussion on VC investment outlook in 2019 and VC Dealmakers. The “Tech Chats: Founder/Investor” session and the “VC Dealmakers” session included a cohort of VCs examining the latest investment trends.  Cyberport Investors Network members Duncan Chiu of Radiant Venture Capital and Jack Kong of Hong Kong X-Tech, as well as representatives from CSC Upshot Ventures, ZhenFund, Fresco Capital, aSense, and Cooley shared lots of their deal-making perspectives.

 

Cyberport start-up showcased their innovative solutions : SpeechX (AI), Reap Technologies (E-commerce), Senstech (LUXSENS) (AI / big data), Planto  (FinTech), and Kalon Couture (online fashion platform).
