Cyberport start-ups score big at Deloitte’s Hong Kong Tech Fast and Rising Star 2019

Thirteen Cyberport start-ups were bestowed Deloitte’s Tech Fast, Rising Star, Tech Leadership, and Tech Fast Female Awards at the second edition of this prestigious awards programme. A total of 28 awards (winners from Cyberport are listed as below) were given out to high tech companies that demonstrate commercial and operational excellence.

 

Deloitte established the Tech Fast Awards to recognise tech companies that achieve remarkable growth. To be eligible for the 2019 edition, a business must have achieved at least three years of business operations and an operating revenue of at least HK$1.2 million during the 2016 fiscal year.

 

Buyandship (shipment forwarding), GogoChart (mobile advertising), Pakpobox (smart lockers), Shopline (e-commerce solutions), and Everyware Limited (communication platform) were among the top 10 Tech Fast awards winners.

 

Meanwhile, the Rising Star Awards, which recognise businesses with a shorter history but demonstrate remarkable growth potential in their sectors, selected Find Solution Ai (AI/EduTech), Kristal Advisor (robo-advisory), Negawatt Utility (EngTech), OneDegree (InsurTech), Redspots Creative (interactive media), and VAR LIVE HK (esports) for the accolade.

 

In the individual award category, Klook’s (TravelTech) co-founder and COO, Mr Eric Gnock Fah, won the 2019 Deloitte Tech Leadership Award. The company was identified as a Rising Star in 2017 and reached unicorn status in 2018. Meanwhile, LYNK’s founder and CEO, Ms Peggy Choi, was conferred the Tech Fast Female Award.  “I am grateful for Cyberport’s unwavering support over the years, offering assistance in different aspects on my entrepreneurial journey, helping us with market exploration, business networking and funding opportunities. Cyberport’s extensive network has also effectively enhanced LYNK’s reputation and visibility, greatly contributing to our business growth,” said Peggy.

 

Winners of the Hong Kong Technology Fast Program will be eligible to join the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 China.

 

Cyberport was the strategic partner of the programme alongside HKSTP and HSBC.
