HashKey Capital, the investment arm of Cyberport community member HashKey Group and a global asset manager specialising in crypto, blockchain, and digital assets, has raised US$500 million in committed capital for its HashKey FinTech Investment Fund III.
The newly established fund will be used to invest in crypto and blockchain initiatives worldwide, with a focus on emerging markets. It will provide investors with institutional-grade exposure to all aspects of blockchain and crypto technologies, including infrastructure, tools, and applications with the potential for widespread adoption.
The funding round received enthusiastic support from institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, corporations, and family offices. The positive reception reflected investor interest in digital asset and multichain project investments, which have been rapidly growing around the world.
In a statement, Deng Chao, CEO of HashKey Capital and Head of HashKey Singapore, remarked that the company has “weathered at least three cycles in the industry. These unique experiences and insights will be invaluable as we navigate through turbulence. We are one of the few crypto investors that have been granted a licence for fund management involving digital assets in Hong Kong, with another approval in principle for fund management in Singapore. We are pleased to work with our partners to set the gold standard for the industry’s sustainable growth.”
Since its founding in 2018, HashKey Capital has managed more than US$1 billion in client assets and invested in blockchain and crypto companies at all stages. In The Block’s Digital Asset Funding Landscape report, HashKey Capital was named one of the most active venture capital firms and one of the largest backers of crypto projects, with over 320 investments in the sector.
