Cyberport recently witnessed an MoU signing between two promising FinTech incubatees. EVIDENT, an alternative investment platform with extensive Web3 expertise, and PropCap, an innovative mortgage-matching platform specialising in green mortgages, have collaborated to tokenise green mortgage products using blockchain and Web3 technologies.
By leading the way in tokenising real-world assets, these two companies aim to spur the development of Web3 and green finance, which aligns with the I&T development of the Hong Kong Government.
As part of the partnership, PropCap will identify green mortgage deals for tokenisation within a regulatory framework, while EVIDENT will contribute its robust Web3 infrastructure and blockchain technologies. By converting traditional financial products into digital assets, the companies unlock a plethora of new and exciting opportunities. Investors can gain access to markets that might otherwise be cost-prohibitive, homeowners can increase asset liquidity, and more efficient, transparent, accessible, and sustainable alternative mortgage solutions can be offered.
Cyberport was pleased to see this collaboration among community members, which represents yet another step forward in the advancement of the green FinTech ecosystem. Peter Yan, Cyberport CEO, noted, “As the largest FinTech community in Hong Kong, Cyberport has long been dedicated to fostering FinTech applications and innovation. Our start-ups consistently provide not only practical solutions but also trailblazing innovations that broaden the spectrum of possibilities. With Web3 upon us, and with Cyberport being home to the largest Web3 community in the city, we anticipate that more collaborations and innovations will emerge from this brilliant community, propelling Hong Kong’s ambitions in FinTech, Web3, virtual assets, green FinTech, and beyond.”
