Four Cyberport community members have been named to the Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Asia 2024” list: AfterSchool founder Ronald Tse and Snaildy Education co-founders Patrick Lau and Rex Law were honoured in the “Social Impact” category for their contributions to education, while Jumppoint co-founder Samson Ho was recognised in the “Industry, Manufacturing & Energy” category for his smart logistics solutions.
AfterSchool is an online tutoring platform tailored specifically to DSE students. In addition to boosting users’ learning efficacy using EdTech, Ronald Tse’s start-up operates as a social enterprise and active advocate for educational equality. It collaborates with schools and NGOs to provide free or subsidised tutoring services to over 3,000 students from grassroots families, ensuring they have a fair chance in a competitive education system where paying for afterschool tutoring is nearly ubiquitous.
Snaildy, Patrick Lau and Rex Law’s school management system, focuses on helping parents and teachers support learners with special educational needs (SEN). Implemented across 80 schools, this EdTech undertaking reduces administrative work so parents and teachers can track students’ academic progress, monitor their medication needs, and even oversee their off-campus activities. So far, over 6,000 SEN students have benefitted from Snaildy’s improved home-school support.
Jumppoint’s smart solutions help e-commerce merchants in Southeast Asia and Latin America achieve both profitability and sustainability. The end-to-end logistics services offered by Samson Ho’s start-up optimise all aspects of warehousing, fulfilment, and local/international/cold-chain delivery. By deploying dynamic algorithms to shorten routes and real-time data to maximise delivery points, Jumppoint boosts operational efficiency and increases cost effectiveness.
Forbes’ recognition of Asia’s young trailblazers does more than simply acknowledge their innovative spirit and celebrate their achievements. It also demonstrates the power with which I&T and purpose-driven entrepreneurship can transform industries and catalyse positive change for a more inclusively sustainable future.
