"Internet of Things" conference explores the impact of a smart world

It is not unimaginable that homes and cities could one day become smart given the stunning pace of technological development that is rapidly transforming our lives.

Jointly hosted by Internet Society Hong Kong and IET HK and co-hosted by Cyberport, "The Internet of Things- from Vision to Reality" Conference will be held at Cyberport on 4 September afternoon which aims to answer what that smart world means and how this will unleash a wave of new possibility for data gathering, predictive analyses and IT automation.

The conference will cover research and real case studies that illustrate the evolution of vision to reality with officiating guests to include Professor Joseph Ng, Vice-Chairman of the Internet Society Hong Kong, Gary Lai, the Assistant Government Chief Information Officer (Industry Facilitation) at the OGCIO and Dr Angus Cheung, Chairman of IET Hong Kong.

A range of topics are on the agenda including the Internet of everything, IoT making smarter business a better life, prototyping tools for IoT and how the internet of things can evolve from vision to reality.

Featured speakers include Wayne Pales, head of the Smart Grid Programme at CLP Power HK who will discuss his company's Smart Metering Pilot scheme launched earlier this year, Raymond Poon, Customer Solutions Architect at Cisco Systems HK, Raymond Ng, Chief Operation Officer at GS1 HK, Angus Wong, Associate Professor and Program Leader of Open University of Hong Kong's Engineering Sciences team and Anthony Wong, Chairman of the Electronic and Communications Section at IET HK.

Ideal for professionals working in smart technology, the conference will highlight endless possibilities and bring innovation and discussion to the fore.

What's more, attendance of the conference could win you an iPad Mini worth HK$2,588!  Sign up for this exciting and free of charge event today.  For details, please visit http://www.isoc.hk/2013/08/2254/ or simply click here for registration.
