Cyberport brings live Japanese pop concerts to Hong Kong via DCX network
platform |
Thanks to the advancement of technology, Japanese
pop idol group AKB48 will be able to entertain fans in Hong Kong by delivering
live concerts real-time from Japan. With its successful track record in
supporting live 3D broadcast of World Cup in June last year, Cyberport once
again partners with cinema outlets to provide technical support to live
broadcast "AKB48 Request Hour Set List Best 100 2011" concerts via its Digital
Cinema Exchange (DCX) network platform.
"Continuing our commitment to lift the digital media industry in Hong Kong to
new heights, Cyberport is glad to partner with MCL in bringing a brand-new
entertainment experience to pop music fans in Hong Kong with DCX streaming
technology via our network. This first-in-Hong-Kong live broadcast of
AKB48 concert is a vivid demonstration of how technology will bring new
excitement to the audience with innovations, and open up new opportunities for
local industry leaders to collaborate with their peers around the world," said
Herman Lam, Cyberport's CEO.
The concerts will be shown in MCL JP Causeway Bay, Telford and Kornhill from
January 20 to 23. For details and ticketing, please visit
www.mclcinema.com or call 2418 8841.
The DCX is a digital entertainment pilot scheme which was launched in Hong Kong
in March 2010. With funding from the Film Development Fund and Cyberport,
the scheme provides a secure and fast network system for the exchange of digital
content between local industries and their counterparts overseas. 13 local
cinemas under six major circuits, including Broadway, Chinachem, Golden Harvest,
MCL, The Grand and UA, have been installed with this high end network platform
for any upcoming digital content transmission. |
