IncuTrain graduate Simage wins encouragement award at TBS DigiCon6 |
Simage Animation and Media, a Cyberport IncuTrain
Centre graduate, was recognised by the renowned TBS DigiCon6 Awards, at the end
of November 2010, in an awards ceremony in Tokyo.
Its winning entry, "Temple Rider", jointly created in collaboration with RTHK,
won the encouragement award.
Organised by Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) in Japan, the TBS DigiCon6 Awards
is an annual competition held each fall, designed to recognise and reward
talented creators throughout the Asia region.
In the latest awards, over 2,000 entries from 10 Asian countries and regions,
including 77 entries from Hong Kong, competed for the awards. In total,
only six entries: gold, silver, bronze and three encouragement awards were given
out.
RTHK's Cheung Kin-wah and Simage's Matthew Chow attended the presentation
ceremony as part of a larger delegation led by the Hong Kong Productivity
Council (HKPC).
The "Temple Rider" tells the story of a protective Hong Kong girl who, one day,
discovers a magic temple, which sets her on the path of a new challenge.
The "Temple Rider" also won the first place in the TBS DigiCon6 Hong Kong
regional awards, while "The Drifting Love", a joint RTHK and Red Production
work, and "Paperdoll", an RTHK/Free-D Workshop production, won the runner-up
awards. The HKPC co-organises the TBS DigiCon6 Awards in Hong Kong with
the CreateSmart Initiative of Create Hong Kong providing funding support for the
second year running. |
